Sister came from a quiet reflection on my sister, Megan, and her growth in faith this past year. I’m deeply proud of who she’s becoming and how her faith is shaping her life and the lives of those around her.
In Spring 2025, Megan sent me a photo of a poem she’d written, with a message that read: “Dawson! I was listening to Natura [my album] and felt like writing a poem for Jesus, so I did. Your music inspires me to do stuff I never thought I’d do. Love you.”
She titled it “Poem of Praise.”
Her words moved me, reminded me of why I make music, and inspired me to write more. If my music could inspire a poem like this, then surely her poem could inspire music that reflects her heart.

Into the Blue
Poem of Praise
all my life i’ve known You, as i walked on the sea
You were reaching out for me, my comfort sank into the blue
for a moment i felt free, but the water then choked me
as the light faded i knew, nothing could help me but You…

but My strength was lost. i saw your hand with a scar
telling me You paid the cost. You pulled me to surface
yet i felt so worthless. You lifted my chin up–
as i looked into your eyes, your grace filled my cup.
